Cable skiing

It consists of 5 towers and is about 800m long all the way around. Blue Rock uses an overhead cable system with an electronic motor winch that pulls skiers around the lake. This system is safe, user- and environmentally-friendly (using no petrol). Skilled water-ski instructors are always in attendance and you do not need to be of a particular age, sporty or fit to enjoy the skiing to have the time of your life! The only requirement is that you are able to swim.

A 400m adrenaline-filled Fufi-Slide ride over Blue Rock Lake! Blue Rock’s 400 meter fufi-slide is the longest fufi-slide ride in the Western Cape! You are harnessed in and wear a helmet, starting from the top of Blue Rock (by the entrance gate), flying over the rock-falls and landing in the water close to the jetty. .. something similar to a zip line!

Diving

This is the deepest and cleanest lake in the Western Cape. Blue Rock is a perfect venue for diving as it is one of the only lakes in South Africa with crystal clear water which reaches up to 26C. The deepest point of the lake is 60 meters which is ideal for free, commercial and scuba diving. There is a 5 meter visibility and various newly built floating jetties are floating in the lake for easy access into the water. Blue Rock does not offer diving courses but if there is a need for teaching venues, Blue Rock now also has various training rooms available.

Cheetah Outreach:

Promoting the survival of the free ranging, Southern African cheetah through environmental education and delivering conservation initiatives.
An education and community-based programme created to raise awareness of the plight of the cheetah and to campaign for its survival. Founder Annie Beckhelling launched the project in January 1997 with just one hectare of land proved by Spier Wine Estate and two cheetahs.

Clay Pigeon advertures:

Clay enjoys a high-five and a smile more than the rest of his feathered friends. First time shooters usually arrive with the uncertainty you would associate with a job hunter at an interview. After being introduced to the feeling of that rifle on one’s shoulder and the anticipation of the trigger, they are happy to be part of the clay tribe. And so is Clay, to have a new friend. As an international sport, clay pigeon shooting has about 20 different variations. Originating in Britain during the late 1800’s, this sport has grown to worldwide stardom, giving Clay the near legendary status he has today
